Carlos Vaz de Almeida

Carlos Vaz de Almeida is the Managing Partner and the partner responsible for the Finance and Projects practice at the Lisbon office, with a particular focus on Energy and Infrastructure. He has been with Pérez-Llorca as a founding partner of the Lisbon office since 2023.

Carlos advises clients throughout all stages of projects, including development, financing, regulatory matters and contract negotiation, particularly in relation to PPAs, EPC, O&M and grid connection agreements.

‍

He has more than 18 years of experience across leading law firms, Big Four firms and the public sector. He previously served as Advisor to the Minister of State and Finance and as Deputy Director of UTAP, the Portuguese entity responsible for public-private partnerships.

He holds a Law degree from NOVA University Lisbon and a Master’s degree in Finance from Católica Business School.

Carlos regularly lectures on Project Finance, Energy and Infrastructure and is recognised by Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500.
